Flooding and Severe Weather Risk Continues This Weekend

More heavy rain will exacerbate flooding in the central and southern U.S. this weekend. In addition, over portions of the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee Valleys, severe thunderstorms are expected. Some storms may produce large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. Meanwhile, snow and ice will again affect the Cascades, northern Rockies, upper Midwest, and New England through Sunday.

Tonight: Southeast wind 5 to 10 knots shifting north after midnight. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas up to 5 feet. Areas of fog in the evening. Patchy fog after midnight. A slight chance of showers.

Monday: Northeast wind 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet with occasional seas up to 6 feet. Patchy fog. A slight chance of light rain in the morning. A chance of light rain in the afternoon.

Monday Night: East wind 10 to 15 knots shifting southeast after midnight. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas up to 5 feet. Areas of fog. A slight chance of light rain and patchy drizzle.

Tuesday: Southeast wind 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas up to 5 feet. A slight chance of showers and patchy drizzle in the morning. Areas of fog in the morning, then patchy fog in the afternoon.

Thursday: North wind 10 to 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet with occasional seas up to 5 feet.

Thursday Night: Northeast wind 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas up to 5 feet.
