Strong Winds and Critical Fire Weather Conditions Likely over California

Critical fire weather conditions will continue over portions of California today. Very strong winds with gusts over 60 mph combined with dry humidity values will create an environment conducive to extreme fire danger and explosive fire growth over southern California. Mon: W winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Mainly in S swell with a dominant period of 5 seconds.

Mon Night: W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, then around 3 ft after midnight, then 2 ft or less after midnight. Mainly in S swell with a dominant period of 8 seconds.

Tue: SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 ft or less, then around 3 ft in the late morning and afternoon. Mainly in S swell with a dominant period of 9 seconds.

Tue Night: W winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 3 to 4 ft.
