Winter storm conditions possible for parts of Central Plains on Saturday

Widespread precipitation, including heavy snow, will push farther east on Saturday east across the central and southern Rockies. Snow will extend from the Rockies into the central High Plains by late Saturday, spreading farther east on Sunday, with moderate to heavy snows and gusty winds expected across portions of South Dakota and Minnesota by the end of the weekend.

Synopsis: High pressure, to the north, is forecast to maintain the generally easterly wind across the region through the weekend, and into the beginning of next week. A cold front is forecast to move into the area next week, bringing the possibility of showers to the area for most of next week, as the front stalls over the area. Seas will slowly subside this weekend, and into next week, only to begin to build once again for the latter half of next week.
