Winter Storm Departing Northeast; Cold Front To Deliver Locally Heavy Snow for the Northern To Southern Rockies and Upper Midwest

The early season, record winter storm is gradually departing the Northeast U.S. today but lingering impacts of heavy snow, mixed precipitation, in gusty winds and coastal flooding continue. Meanwhile, a cold front plunging through the Upper Midwest and Front Range of the Rockies will produce localized heavy snow from North Dakota to southern Minnesota and from the northern to central Rockies.

Tonight: North winds 10 to 15 knots along the coast to north northeast 15 to 20 knots in the gulf stream. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet along the coast and 4 to 6 feet with occasional to 8 feet in the gulf stream. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop.

Saturday: Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet along the coast and 3 to 5 feet with occasional to 6 feet in the gulf stream. Period 6 seconds. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop.
