Heavy precipitation for parts of the Pacific Northwest

Moisture will continue to stream into the Pacific Northwest for the next several days. Heavy rain will continue along the coast, while heavy snow will impact the highest elevations of the Cascades. In the northern Plains and Upper Great Lakes, more arctic air will bring periods of snow, blustery winds and cold wind chills. Light snow is also possible in New England and the Ohio Valley.

Tuesday: Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots along the coast to southeast 15 to 20 knots in the gulf stream. Seas 4 to 6 feet with occasional seas to 8 feet. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Showers likely and a slight chance of thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: South winds 5 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet with occasional seas to 5 feet. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters smooth. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms through the night.

Wednesday: Northeast winds 5 to 10 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Period 7 seconds. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A slight chance of showers in the morning.
