Alberto will pose a variety of Hazards for the South over the Memorial Day Weekend

Subtropical Storm Alberto is slowly moving through the northwestern Caribbean Sea. Tropical Storm-force winds and storm surge possible along the north-central Gulf Coast later this weekend. Regardless of the track, heavy rainfall and flooding is possible in the Southeast over the weekend and into next week. Swells from Alberto will create dangerous surf and rip currents along the Gulf Coast.

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

Synopsis: Subtropical Storm Alberto is expected to move northward and across the Gulf of Mexico during the rest of the Memorial Day weekend, bringing deteriorating boating conditions. Wind speeds will be between 25 and 30 knots across the Gulf waters, with higher gusts even outside of any rain bands. Over the Atlantic waters, South-Southeast winds of 20 to 25 knots tonight and continuing through late Sunday. Wind speeds gradually decrease to 15 to 20 knots late on Memorial Day, except over the offshore Gulf waters where winds will remain around 20 knots.

.GULF STREAM HAZARDS...Seas will be building to at least 7 feet this weekend.
