Fire Weather threats remain critical for portions of California, and smoke is reducing Air Quality; however, rain is forecast mid-week. A strong cold front will bring heavy rain and potential for localized flooding in southern Texas, and continued below normal temperatures across much of the U.S. Snow from the northern portions of this system will spread from the Ohio Valley into the Northeast.

Synopsis: High pressure will settle across the area tonight and remain for much of Sunday. Two fast moving systems will affect the area beginning later Sunday and lasting through Tuesday. Arctic high pressure will then build towards the area Tuesday night and Wednesday and persist across the area until the end of the week. A disturbance may arrive across the region next weekend.
