Recent rainfall has increased the threat of Moderate to Major flooding along rivers in the Mid-Atlantic, especially Virginia and Maryland, over the next few days. Rainfall combined with snowmelt is also fueling Moderate-to-Major flooding in the northern Rockies and northern Intermountain West.

Synopsis: A western Atlantic ridge will lie across the Gulf coast region and north Florida over the next several days. Meanwhile, a series of pressure troughs will migrate westward and across our region, and into the southeast Gulf of Mexico for at least this week.
