Excessive Heat and Critical Fire Weather in the Southwest; Severe Weather Threats Increase Sunday in the Plains

Strong high pressure is keeping temperatures hot across much of the west and south, with excessive Heat in the desert southwest. These conditions are also producing critical fire weather threats in the Four Corners area and interior northern California. Severe thunderstorms are possible in the Plains, Mid-South, and Mid-Atlantic this weekend; with very large hail threats in the Plains Sunday.
