Showers and storms will continue across the Mid-Atlantic today. Some storms may produce heavy to excessive rainfall especially within the Carolinas which could lead to flash, urban and small stream flooding. Valley rain and mountain snow will continue to spread across the West today and Friday. A strong winter storm will bring blizzard conditions to the Arctic coastline in Alaska through Friday.

Synopsis: A 1040 mb high in the Arctic, 350 NM northeast of Barter Island will strengthen and move east to the Canadian Archipelago as a 1044 mb high this afternoon. A 1015 mb low 100 NM north Point Lay will slowly move to 150 NM north of Point Lay by Friday afternoon then fizzle out. A 1027 mb high will move into the Arctic north of Wrangell Island this afternoon. Then it moves to 80N by midnight tonight.
