An Enduring Heat Wave Begins for Texas and Southern Plains

Starting today, a blazing Heat Wave will consume much of the Southern Plains and Lower MS Valley through early next week, especially for TX. Numerous Excessive Heat Warnings, Watches and Advisories are in effect for the mid-section of TX and OK and these hazards will only become more widespread. Expect record Highs temps and very dangerous Heat Indices, both surging well north of triple digits.
