Lake effect snow will continue through Friday bringing significant snowfall to areas east to southeast of the Great Lakes. Snow squalls may impact New Year's Eve travel this evening and overnight across parts of the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Upstate New York. Tonight: Northwest wind 20 to 25 knots with gale force gusts up to 34 knots. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers through late evening. Waves subsiding to 2 to 3 feet, then building to 2 to 4 feet.

Thursday: West wind 20 to 25 knots with gale force gusts up to 38 knots. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers in the morning, then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Waves subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.

Thursday Night: West wind 20 to 25 knots with gale force gusts up to 36 knots. Cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves building to 2 to 4 feet.
