Critical Fire Weather Persists in the Southern High Plains; Snow in the Great Lakes into the Northeast

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions will persist across the central and southern High Plains today as gusty winds and dry conditions continue across the region. Today: Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots. Heavy freezing spray through early afternoon. Cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Waves subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.

Tonight: Northwest wind 10 to 20 knots backing west less than 10 knots late. Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of snow showers through midnight, then a chance of snow showers late. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.

Thursday: Southwest wind 5 to 15 knots. Cloudy with a chance of snow. Waves 1 to 2 feet.

Thursday Night: Southwest wind 10 to 15 knots. Mostly cloudy. Waves building to 2 to 3 feet.
