Active Spring Like Pattern Across the Eastern Half of the Country

The second storm will track across central and eastern portion of the country this weekend. Heavy wintry precipitation will affect the northern Plains to the upper peninsula of Michigan. Late This Afternoon: Northeast wind 10 to 15 knots. Mostly cloudy. Waves 3 to 5 feet occasionally to 7 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet.

Tonight: East wind 15 to 25 knots. Cloudy. A chance of snow possibly mixed with sleet by midnight. Snow and sleet possibly mixed with rain late. Waves building to 5 to 8 feet occasionally to 10 feet.

Saturday: East wind 15 to 25 knots backing northeast 10 to 15 knots late. Gusts up to 32 knots. Rain in the morning. Snow showers and sleet through the day. A slight chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Waves subsiding to 3 to 6 feet occasionally to 8 feet.

Saturday Night: North wind up to 30 knots backing northwest after midnight. Cloudy. Snow showers in the evening, then a slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Waves building to 6 to 9 feet occasionally to 11 feet, then subsiding to 5 to 8 feet occasionally to 10 feet.

Sunday: Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots backing west 10 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Partly cloudy. Waves subsiding to 2 to 3 feet.
