Tracking Atmospheric River in the Northwest U.S. and Clipper with Winter Weather in the Northeast U.S.

A prolonged atmospheric river will continue to bring gusty winds, heavy rainfall which may lead to urban and river flooding with possible landslides, and heavy inter-mountain snow over the Pacific Northwest into the northern Rockies through Thursday. Tonight: Northwest gales to 40 kt quickly diminishing to 30 kt early this evening and to 15 to 20 kt overnight. Chance of snow in the evening, then a chance of flurries after midnight. Waves 10 to 14 ft occasionally to 18 ft subsiding to 4 to 7 ft occasionally to 9 ft.

Thursday: Northwest winds 15 to 20 kt becoming southwest 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft subsiding to 1 to 3 ft late.

Thursday Night: Southwest winds 5 to 10 kt becoming southeast overnight. Chance of snow. Waves 1 to 2 ft.

Friday: East winds 5 to 10 kt becoming west 10 to 15 kt in the afternoon. Slight chance of snow in the morning, then chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 2 ft.
