Another Round of Heavy Rain and Mountain Snow in California; Snow in the Great Lakes and Northeast

Another round of heavy rainfall will renew concerns for additional flash flooding and landslides in southern California around burn scars and coastal mountain ranges. A low pressure system is bringing enhanced snowfall downwind from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast mountain ranges. Monday: Northwest winds 10 to 15 kt becoming southeast around 5 kt. A chance of sprinkles in the afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 ft subsiding to 1 to 2 ft.

Monday Night: Southeast winds 5 to 10 kt increasing to 10 to 20 kt overnight. Chance of rain in the evening, then rain overnight. Waves 1 to 2 ft building to 2 to 4 ft.

Tuesday: East winds 15 to 20 kt. Rain. Waves 4 to 6 ft occasionally to 8 ft. A small craft advisory may be needed.
